I was surfing around and checking out some of the cool blogs i follow when i came across this on swingindix blog. It appears to be a Harley Davidson dealer guide to the power of test rides and techniques in how to make the sale. Trust me, ALL the manufacturers offer dealer guide books on how to be a better dealer (translation = sell more motorcycles) What you can make out in these pictures talks more about hooking the potential buyer into the Harley Davidson lifestyle more then the merits of the bike itself.
I think this is an old guide. It was most likley written in the 1990's when Harley was trying to market their bikes to yuppies with lots of good credit and were ripe for the picking. Test rides on new motorcycles is almost unheard of now a days. It is to risky and a prime example why happened a few weeks back. A local Victory dealer who had a group "test ride" took a large group of potential customers on a test ride down the highway when one of these new riders lost control and crashed the brand new 2011 bike and was killed! The shit storm to follow that cluster fuck will no doubt make Victory rethink its policy on test rides. I can see it now! Lawyers will have a field day suing not only the dealer for providing an unsafe test ride, but also Victory for providing an unsafe motorcycle, the rider training course the numbskull took that said he was ready to ride a big boys bike. Right down to the shoe lace manufacturer of the boots the guy was wearing , because of course they were also defective, and contributed to his loss of control. Lawyers suck sweaty dog balls!

Couldn't agree more about the lawyers. But what can you do about unprepared riders? Make them take more lessons? Have a restricted licence so they can't ride a big bike? Whatever you try to do to stop these idiots hurting themselves there's going to be protests and everything will end up the same. Everybody wants everyone else to look after them, but won't let them in the end.
